Guidance for executors, administrators, beneficiaries and family members.
My law practice is limited to estate matters, and closely-related and involved areas such as taxation, the sale of real estate and other assets, and estate litigation.
The laws and procedures concerning the settlement of the estate of a deceased person vary from state to state. My responsibility as the attorney for an executor or administrator is to conclude the administration as soon as possible and to minimize the burdens on the executor or administrator.
The executor or administrator of an estate has the right to retain an attorney to provide advice and assistance with the administration, and to pay the attorney from the estate as an administration expense.
